What screen recorder do you recommend the most that can record in games and is used a lot for youtube videos?
I see loads of youtube videos with in-game video and I'm wondering what they are all using =s.

Yeah, I'd say that's the easiest and less resourceful one to use.
Note: Probably won't affect you but since my GeForce 6100 is crap, it lags when it records a tincy bit. But you can notice it. May not affect you since you probably have a good video card

try cam studio

Problem with fraps is the size of the AVI is HUGEE, i need to download another program just to compress it. I want something that can encode well.

Cam studio should be perfect for you then. I use it as well. It allows you to choose what codec and format to record as, and it's very low resource.
If you still like FRAPS, just use Virtualdub to change it to xvid.

Okay, but when I plug my PSP in to my computer I have downloaded a special hack program that makes my psp display itself on the monitor, and i want frapps to record it but it only records things that are games...

another idea if you can get an xp virtual machine working vmplayer has a record function but it seems a bit drastic

Any official Half-Life games or mods (HL, CS, DoD etc) you will be able to record what is called a demo. This demo can be converted to video for movies.
