Hey MsgPlus members. Long time huh! Hope you're all doing well.

I'm trying to find a .mkv to .avi converter. A Free one.  Every program I've found are trials, with 3 minute restriction or they put some huge "Unregistered Version" text in the middle of the screen on the converted movie.

HALP!

Use MKVExtractGUI to extract video, audio and subtitle from MKV files.

Then, you can multiplex (join) all those elements together with VirtualDubMOD.

MKVExtractGUI:

http://corecodec.org/projects/mkvextractgui/

VirtualDubMOD:
— — — — — — —
http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/

I suggest once you save the completed video in VirtualDubMod, save it as XviD :p!

With the latest VirtualDub, you can now open up other formats using plugins.

1. Update to the latest VirtualDub: http://www.virtualdub.org

2. Download the plugins: http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1055896&postcount=25

3. Follow guides in the plugin zip on how to install.

I thought I would post this so you won't have to use an out-dated program. A few features from VirtualDubMod are not in VirtualDub but hopefully Phaeron will add them in.

have you tried www.media-convert.com, it claims to be able to recieve it, and it is much more simple if your file is relatively small
