Plus! 4.50 will bring Messenger to a new dimension... Skinning (including window shapes, colors, graphics, texts), a fresh and helping Script Editor, as well as built-in support for the newest WLM 9 Beta, will make Plus! even better than ever. I'm sure this will push up the users count to even some more millions :)

well im guessing its the new plus release that coming this weekend if im not mistaken. cant wait to see the new site, you know even though your not being specific with a date so as to stage downloads of plus the servers may still get heavily taxed from everyone of the early downloaders of plus trying to download the skins that the testers have written already

as ive said before im looking forward to trying out skinning and if the scripting system is now easier i might give that another go too.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to sleeping in after a week at my new job and then cleaning over the weekend.  Then if I get a chance I might do some script coding.  Hopefully I should get another version of web2live out by the end of next weekend before I go on holidays....

Yes, WLM9 support will still be considered beta though, don't expect it to be completely error-free, but i've been running 4.50 beta on WLM9 without any real problem so far.

well, I'm now using a special dedicated service for the Messenger Plus! setup files. The web site may go down but the official mirror for the file won't.

Still, just to be sure, you'll notice that this time, I did not write any particular day or time for the release... ;)

actually it would be unfair to make that comparison, yes in terms of you get just as excited about its arrival and cant wait to unwrap it once its here yes it is like christmas in that respects however, christmas takes place the same day every year so atleast you know when its coming with plus however it could be toiday, or tomorrow or even monday nobody has a clue.

also to make matters worse someone said theres going to be a new website, now they were unspecific as to whether its just a new design on this server or whether or not its moved to a whole new address so for all we know we could be clicking around this site all weekend waiting for plus and it get released on another website address for a new plus website that nobody knows about.

What he probably meant with his cryptic "internal counter" is that we all know it will be released somewhere around the weekend if all things go well. But that is no secret at all.

The "internal counter" simply reads: T minus soon.

:P Even if the translation wasn't already finished, Plus! would still not have been released...

On that same note: even if the translation was already 'done' since 2 weeks, I would still keep on sending possible updates up to the last second and even later.

If it is a new website, be sure that the old links will point you to the new website. You wont be clicking in the dark anywhere.
If it is a just a new design, you would already be on the correct page exploring the new looks.
If it is some extra content, you would notice it strait away.

In other words: don't worry to much about all this. It is not like you're going to miss out on the event.

that would be my guess too, remember a website only has a set amount of bandwidth, a chunk of the bandwidth is being used by us constantly viewing and replying to this topic, another chunk could be patchou in dreamweaver when he updates a page he just click the upload button and it uploads the section hes working on lets say its the new skinning section and he hasnt updated pages that hold links to it yet so as to not spoil things skinning section could be huge and he might have a slow connection and with limited andwidth all this activity could be putting strain on servers so sometimes you go to site and it works sometimes it wont, i refreshed that error screen 5 times earlier and it made no difference went back one level and reclicked the link and it worked so its an intimitant disruption.

my guess is this is a good sign of plus being released today, on the other hand maybe there are tech faults at the isp's end who knows.

awww why did you do that?  It was so funny to see the find and replace used on every "script" to say "skin", even in the scripts themselves :P

My two cents on the reasoning.  A file has been corrupted in one of the uploads or a little bit is missing from a wordpress file and giving these errors.  This is because of updating the stuff for the new site design.

The thing is after getting an error, if you just press f5 then it should show the page how it is meant to look.... kind of strange

I didn't say its "delayed" either. But a real releasedate was never given. The most precise he said was "Somewhere this weekend if everything goes as planned", weekends include sundays, so plenty of waiting time left.

The important words there being "for me". Patchou lives in a different timezone to you so his 'weekend' is not the same as yours. IIRC, last time it was released "on a weekend" it ended up being available about 4am Monday GMT.

Its been said multiple times already that the site is going down and recieving errors because everyone is refreshing it so much, the new site plus, Messenger Plus Live! 4.5 will be released when Patchou releases them, might as well be patient for the release, most of us are waiting for it. [Most because testers already got it, or atleast they have had a taste]

Yes. I searched the forums and found nothing about it being released in November only December!

Just be patient. It is well worth the wait for plus! I posted a Countdown for Messenger Plus! Live 4.50 here and hopefully it's accurate.

You know Patchou, maybe you should make it necessary to install the support feature for a week before you upload the full installer with optional support.  Maybe that way more people will appreciate deadlines waiting, or at least it will benefit you.

Mat280 I agree with you sometimes its good to set a certain dealine (its good to stick to what you say as i have said things in the past to teachers etc. and haven't stuck to them and it can get you into alot of trouble) otherwise things would never get done but at the end of the day as long at its gets released before 23.59 pm sunday night (in your own time zone < time zones really annoy me) then i am sure everyone will be happy as its being released this weekend

the skinning feature will be the best - depending on what its coded using i might have ago at making my own skin

We'll I just hope Patchou takes a well deserved holiday after this release.  Release dates are stressful for anyone and with this constant bickering it really wouldn't help at all.  Patchou is one man and he is always fixing his code until the last minute (heck I think he even added a toast in when you use /checkupdate and there isn't any udate, that was just a couple of hours ago).

Release dates should be a guide IMHO, many things go wrong or there is a silly bug that you need to fix, or even just a version number you forgot to change somewhere.

I understand that everyone wants it now, but just because 22,000,000 people are asking for it doesn't mean Patchou should give it to them when he personally feels as though it is not ready.

Be patient and I hope he doesn't release it in the time he said, just to annoy the hell out of you.

He's not making you do anything. The program asks you if you want to install it. It does not install ad-ware without the user knowing it.

Although there are those people who are pretty much blind and just rushed through the installer, not knowing that they clicked for the ads, when they did not want any.
