Add a new Skinning Button? by Jimbo on 12-09-2007 at 07:20 PM

Well we've got a scripts button, so why not a skin button?

I like the idea ;)

I think a script/skins button is better because 3 extra buttons would clutter up the bar too much.

RE: Add a new Skinning Button? by Spunky on 12-09-2007 at 07:28 PM

It'd make the bar too crowded... =/

RE: Add a new Skinning Button? by Patchou on 12-09-2007 at 07:32 PM

there's no real point in adding a skin button I think, the few options available are already fine in the Plus! menu.

Ok, but maybe do as SSD said and put them into the scripts bit, maybe have 2 main sections in that menu, Scripts, skins, and have their options coming off them?

There's a difference in the nature of skins and script though.

There is a script button because options in scripts are used regulary for many scripts.

A skin is different in that matter because once you've set it up, you normally would keep those settings; it is more permanent. And that's even only for when skins do have an options panel. Many don't, so an unique skin button would be kind of useless and only take some space.

Perhaps integrate into the colorize button? Have skins listed below the colors. Makes sense.

haaaaaaaaa! now that's a good idea!

Thank you, I'll see what can be done.

Agreed , as there are already some Skinning options in the Plus! Menu as Patchou mentioned ( Get new skin option etc).

I don't like the idea and you would have to guard against skins/patches removing it or what not. Also, it doesn't seem like it's a suitable place to put it, it just doesn't fit...

True, it should still display on the Plus! menu even if it is added to the color picker too. Already saw skins like Ev0 remove/replace the color picker.

Noooooooooooooooooo :P

That will clash with my custom dropdown menus :P

Unless patch adds some blank dropdowns or something that I can edit :P
