[Request] New msgplus sounds options by Jumpfreakske on 12-10-2007 at 07:32 PM

- Is it possible tot make a script that can change te sounds limit per page
in the msgplus sounds windows.
The limit now is 20, and when we have a lot of sounds it takes
long before I get to the 30th page. It would be verry nice
if you can choose from '10', '20', '30', '40' up to 100 ?

- Why, if you take a backup of your msgpluslive, your selfmade
msgplus sounds aren't in that backupp ? Every time something goes
wrong with WLM or Msgplus live, all the sounds are gone,
and nowhere to be found. I was wondering a script can help
this problem ? saving teh sounds in a backup, or saving them as 'MP3's.
Is this possible ?

Is this all possible ?

Jumpfreakske.

You can change that in the registry:
  1. Start
  2. Click 'Run'
  3. Type in: 'regedit'
  4. Click 'ok'
  5. HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  6. Software
  7. Patchou
  8. Messenger Plus! Live
  9. Your@email.addy
  10. Preferences
  11. Right Click on 'SoundsSoundByColumn' (It's near the bottom)
  12. Click 'Modify'
  13. Click 'Decimal'
  14. The sound panel displays two columns, the default value of 5 means that 10 sounds will be displayed in each page. The range of acceptable values is 3 to 15 inclusive.[/list]

Always back-up your registry before modifying it!
If you don't feel comfortable modifiying the registry try useing Tweak Live 2 for Plus! 4.11. I'm not sure it will still work, but its worth a shot. :)

For that you can use a script:
    Backup Extreme! 2.0

It still works, as the key hasn't changed :)

Or just create a Soundpack containing all your sounds, no need for a seperate script ;)

There is a problem! I followed your steps,
but when I reach to this step:
  • Messenger Plus! Live,
    I can't find my e-mailadres in a submap. :S

Make sure you are not in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE you should be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

    It works :P

Is it also possible to make other categories
than 'Music', 'Vocal', 'soundseffects' ... ?

To recap... and clarify and repeat a few things....

As said before you can alter the value by altering a registry key directly...

For stuff like this, please see the help page on the official site:
    http://www.msgpluslive.net/ > Help > Registry Settings

It is all explained there. Search for the SoundsSoundByColumn registry setting.

Or using Choli's Tweak Live tool.

Because they aren't supposed to :D

To backup your custom sounds you need to create a Sound Pack. In Dutch:
Contactlijst > Plus!-menu > Geluidsbibliotheek > Geluidspakketten (links onder) > Exporteren of Importeren

    Your sounds are not gone.

The only thing which might be gone are the settings of your sounds. Hence why the sound library will not show you your sounds. But the sounds themselfs are certainly not gone, they are still in the same place.

To restore these settings, even if you don't have a backup of your settings, you can use the Sound Library Fixer which will add all your sound information back to the registry.

(this method will be extremely much faster than actually making a true backup/soundpack and does not require any extra hard disk space)

Thus... sounds can be backed up by exporting them to a soundpack.
Note: the custom sounds are already MP3s to begin with.

    ;)

Please do not ask the same question over and over again in different threads.
