Contact List Buttons by ArkaneArkade on 12-11-2007 at 01:41 AM

Hey guys,

I thought I'd dabble slightly with the skinning engine, just to personalise a little.  I've tryed a few skins, but I'd like to just make some edits of my own to the standard one.

However, the first thing I've tried to do is change the MToolbar slightly.  Not much, just by dissappearing the email/sms/phone call buttons.  However, I appear to have done something wrong.  All I did to make them vanish to set LayoutPos=None and it worked - but now the Plus buttons are appearing first in the toolbar.  Can anyone tell me why this is, and what I could do do rectify it.

On a slightly deviatory question - can anyone tell me what the "brandedbtn" and "oimbtn" buttons are?  I tryed making the brandedbtn visible but nothing appeared.  This isnt really an important thing, I'm just curious.

Either way, cheers guys.

If you make the other buttons on the toolbar disappear then the Plus Buttons will be moved to appearing first

If you want these to disappear too then you have to add

code:
<MessengerPlus>
            <AllowContactListChange>false</AllowContactListChange>
        </MessengerPlus>

into your options section

the branded button and oim buttons are just other buttons which have been programmed but aren't actually used by messenger yet/anymore.  Essentially they serve no purpose, but you can disable them in the same way if you wish (so that if they are implemented in the future they won't appear in your skin)

you can read the skinning documentation and try to make this a booval option.

Wrong ;) The OIM button is used if you tell Messenger to link to your offline messages. It does still get used.

the branded button is where a company buys into windows live, I think some ISP in America did and offered Onecare under it's own branded name as well as messenger.

but I've yet to see a screenshot of any branded messenger
