RE: How old is your PC? by MeEtc on 12-17-2007 at 05:48 PM

I have 2:
one is an AMD Athlon Xp 2200+, and is 4 years old. works great, except I had the RAM replaced under warranty in the first year, and the CPU fan failed a month or so ago. Ive since replaced it, but its the wrong size. I have since installed Win 2003 on it (in addition to XP Pro and Ubuntu)
the new one is a Compaq P4, came with Vista Basic, but have since installed XP Pro again (Vista basic can't join a domain :dodgy:). I bought it just after the fan in the old one failed, about a month ago.

I love my MSDN-AA licences (A)

I have an Advent 7109 its 1 year old and its the biggest piece junk I have ever had for a computer. It can only run XP, although it says its vista compatible, I hardly believe that. When it runs a disk or it is on for more than 2 hours it makes horrible sounds :P Would get it replaced but I have no money :P

RE: How old is your PC? by L. Coyote on 12-17-2007 at 07:48 PM

I have a laptop for about 2 years and it's pretty good.

Windows XP Professional
HDD: 160 GB

Actually I hadn't any problem in the last 2 years, but I want to get a tower, because I think it's more useful (except for trips that I take my laptop with me), as I had one before I bought my laptop.
