[HELP] Word Wheel Location Options by stuartbennett on 12-17-2007 at 09:59 PM

i added an options panel to my skin so people can choose if they want the word wheel on top or bottom of contact list, since adding this feature my skin no longer works so below im quoting every single UIFILE i have for 9.0 and 8.5 as well as the skininfo and hopefully someone can figure out what i have done wrong.

all the code is in the attached file which for reference is 103 pages long.

Why not simply put *PlusSkin* options for both true and false around each in the 1001 Definition?

Eg.

Where the wordwheel element bar is originally make that false

around your new code add the code for True.

Or if it's simply a case of changing the layoutpos then that's even easier but the same method, set a true and false statement for *PlusSkin* to follow.

You really must learn to do these things yourself, the documentation and help is already readily available for free. My tutorial on hiding elements should help you understand a lot about using true and false *PlusSkin* statements

Why don't you look at someones elses skin and try and work out how they did it?

I am sure other people have done this as I haven't had time to explore all the skins yet

Why don't you read the documentation? It's well documented, and make sure your XML is 100% valid.

Well, when I used XMLSpy to format his XML the other day, it never complained and neither has his editor.

i also use xmlspy and validate with the schema so either ive put in a syntactically correct piece of code that validates ok but stops my skin from running properly upon executions or theres a problem with my uifiles, however as im not getting a skin trace come back now since redoing my 1001 definitions file i dont see how it could be the uifiles as if it were them they would cause a skin trace.

so the question is if my skininfo is perfectly validated by the schema and nothings wrong with my uifiles then why does my skin not run?

A.E. i will be looking at your multivalue tutorial later tonight to try and code in the plusskin thingys into my ui file ill, my skin doesnt run anyway at present for some unknown reason so i can hardly make things worse by trying to do this modification lol.
