Really annoying problem by ddiplock on 12-19-2007 at 10:00 PM

Not sure if anyone here can help me, but i feel i've tried everything. For some reason, my MSN Live Messenger has decided to stop working.  I work in IT myself, so I feel i've tried alot of things already to try and sort  it, but i would like to see if anyone has any ideas.

Each time I now try to sign into MSN Live Messenger, I get an error message with the code number 80072745....it says there "may" be a problem with my internet connection. And its been doing it suddenly this morning, all day.

My internet connection is running perfectly fine, i can get onto the internet and browse and there is no problem at all with the net. I've tried reinstalls of messenger, no difference.  I've tried a system restore to several days ago when it was working, but nada, no difference. I've tried to "repair" MSN, but no fix.

My windows Firewall is off, and my netgear firewall certainly isn't the problem.

Has anyone else got any other ideas of encountered this problem??

I've tried the connection troubleshooter, its gone through all its tests and passed everything, it can't find a connection fault. But for some reason, MSN doesn't want to connect.

I even tried downgrading to an older version, and even then it still didn't work. Yet the "service status" says that everything is stable and running.

Is your clock set to the right time? Try updating via a time server if it doesn't already

I no it may sounds stupid but maybe your netgear firewall is blocking it or another program might be?

If the connection troubleshooter doesn't find a fault, that is unlikely

It was working fine last night. As I say I tried a system restore to an earlier day in the week when it was working, but no difference. I've reset my switch and the router, but no difference
:(
