Seems to be very simple. I love it.

Looks very classy, the pink background looks great as is but may perhaps be a bit too feminine.

Looks great!

But if you wan't to attract visitors its not good. These sort of colors are not recomended.

Why not??  I think the site is fine.  Maybe justify your answer a bit more, john-t, rather than just saying it doesnt look good.

agreed a bit here... although its not too pinkish, so it's alright I think...

Though, the fixed width (if it is a fixed width that is) is a bit small, especially on widescreens. A lot of wasted space in that case.

---

Though, the text is a bit hard to read, maybe make it not anti-aliased, or at least black, instead of light-grey.

Like Dane, I like to ask the same question: why not?

IMPO, I like such "simple" sites a lot more than sites which use all sorts of color schemes. Simple = easy to navigate = easy to find what you want = not distracting = fast.

Anyways, as with all sites, it all depends on who your users are...

Okay well Pink sucks, but like you said, you're going to change it. When you change it you need to pick the right colour. For example you might think blue looks nice, however it looks kind of odd because its the only blue thing on the page. If you look at all the other colours they all relate and fit because they are all of the same black to white gradient.

You have issues with text. I like the glowing kernel's portfolio but i think you should make that font more bold... its very thin and it glows so its a bit hard on the eyes.
Along with the some text and the stuff below it, I think that it should be a bit darker because its again hard on the eyes. also the text should be a bit larger.  When on the internet its much easier to read fonts like arial and such... i cant remember what its called but fonts that have the little tails and such like times new roman, are harder to read on screen so i suggest you also change that. if you're sticking to that font size, i suggest you go for 1.5 spacing or something similar, again its just easier to read.

wew those are my two cents in the form of a novel (as trekie said)

Well pink detracts most newbie boy Internet users. The content part is too small and the colors don't blend. If it was dark and light blue it would be 1) blending in 2) for boys a girls 3) look better for new people to use.

Agreed.
However this is his portfolio, not a site which is necessarily designed for the general public. I imagine he's going to link potential employers to it and such as a showcase of his work.

Yeah, the pink isn't doing it for me either. Don't use colours which are basically the oposite of each other.

I agree, black and white are horrible together.

By this logic, blue would detract most "newbie" girl "Internet Users".  I'm sorry, john-t, but your most of your post makes absolutely no valid justification for the colors of this site changing.  The site is someones portfolio, it's not aimed at "newbie boy Internet users".  Now, colors not blending, thats a good reason.  IMO, the colors are fine, btw.

John-t can describe himself pretty good though.

HOT PINK for the win :P
