Editing Skins by Dheano on 12-21-2007 at 08:53 AM

Hi.

I'm editing "Apple Live Messenger", created by mynetx & Bumba.

Everything is in working order, except for ONE thing..

Every time a new conversation opens, the icon in the top left corner and in the nav bar (explorer.exe, the bottom of the screen) it shows a different image and I can't work out how to edit this.

Any help?

Thanks ~ Dheano

P.S - I'm basing my skin frm mynetx & Bumba's, but I shall add that onto my skin, when finished.

Hello Dheano,
It'd be easier to understand what you mean if you enclosed a screenshot (s?).
Regards,

The bits circled in purple ~ How do you change them?

Thanks ~ Dheano

To change that image you have to edit the resources.dll in Apple Live Messenger.

Thanks Nao, I'll look into it :)

You can do that with Resource Hacker or any similar resource editor.

I googled "Open DLL" and ResHack came up, so I googled ResHack and downloaded it. I have Icon Art so I made some .ico's and changed the images and it now works.

Thanks guys! ~ Dheano

You should as well consider changing the dll ownership credits, unlike coolzee who left them like they were, in his Longhorn skin.

Step ahead of you, had done that as soon as I could edit the dll lol

I shall put you on thanks on my webpage, when I get it running and when I release it :)
