Hallo all!
To some of you out there, I have formed some awesome friendships with, however you live soooo far away. So I have decide on a Plus! meet in Australia in 2009! That way you can all save up enough money to come!
Even if you are not great friends with me I'm sure you have some aussie friends so start saving!
Please don't spam the thread with shit like oh no it should be in MY country or whatever. This is for Australia.
Btw I want to see people like Trekie and Omar and Patchy and your mum.

This is a really great idea. I think it would be best to do this stuff over the Septemer break as well, then it should be good weather and the people from Australia should be on holidays at around the same time (hopefully).
You can count me in.
I think it should be either one of the big places on the eastern coast personally, any of them are fine (even though I'd prefer Brisbane, I could arrange flights and stuff for me and NF).

Melbourne is awesome! Ahhh 2009 haha i was thinking next year! Plenty of time to save up for a flight to melbourne and maybe a trip to the Australian Open and the The Crown Casino

Would love to be there but given that I'm a poor student (really) and that I'm more than likely to come off at the other side in a body bag (don't worry, I'll bring my own so it can be a quick turn around at the airport) I think it's highly unlikely I'll be there.

Couldn't have said it better, however I thought about it and if I put back like $100 a month from my child support and paycheck, I could possibly afford it. I wonder how hard it is these days to get a passport.

There are ways to make it all cheap. Fly buget airlines,stay in hostels,most hostels have kitchen appliences,so instead of eating at restaurants,buy food from super markets and cook it at the hostel.
I know its a cheap way of having a holiday but atleast you will be able to afford it

I'd be interested in going, but travel is going to be hell. Just did some background research, and it would take roughly 2 days to get there (includes crossing of date line, so I don't know how much time in hours).
Flying the other way, its only 11 hours (plus whatever time zone changes again)
Grand Total - Canadian Dollars $3711.49
HA! Not much chance of getting there, I'm afraid. And thats just for plane tickets.

yeh takes close to 24 hours to get here.
You could always fly to bali and smuggle yourself in on a boat.
