Agreed, i just re-saved all the images in the same format before adding it to the db and it was 5MB already... with a bit of tweaking and compression it should be even less.

djdannyp how did you do the thing for moving the titlebar without declaring it anywhere in skininfo, yes you created it for the optionspanel but i thouyght you have to declare it as true or false in your resgroups, when i had wordwheel locations choosing set in 365 skin declaring true and false resgroups messed up the whole skin and every theme except for christmas theme showed up as the summertime simply because in each resgroup (2 for each theme) i had the true or false setting for wordwheel and the theme setting.

so if you can help me implement my word wheel stuff without actually having to declare a true or false setting in each and every resgroup thatd be greatly appreciated.

like the general idea of the skin however these girls dont really show you much flesh do they? i mean with lindsay lohan for example all she does is pull up her top to show off her belly button, shed be sexier in a bikini lol

i couldn't find a good quality lindsay lohan bikini picture to include.  and besides, it's supposed to be about appreciating them, not having porn, lol.

i tried to make the pictures as sexy as possible without breaching NSFW rules, as that's not what the skin is about.

as for the titlebar, it is declared in my skininfo, the option is in there, and then within the 923 definition file for the contact list i have added the <*PlusSkin*> tags like you're supposed to for options like that:

that was what i did for the word wheel option in 365 skin but because i had more than one option decalred in my optionset for a given resgroup it didnt like it.

i do know how to put the plusskin tags into the UIFiles its just you not putting in the skinoptions tags for the titlebar option in your resgroups through me as as far as i know they are supposed to be there.

Menthix i wasnt asking for fully nude or even topless pictures all i said was bikini pics, yes women can look sexy with clothes on its ust im one of those people who likes to see as much flesh as possible without it going pornographic. id never expect porn or topless in a skin as i know messenger plus is child friendly so cant support adult content but bikini pics arent really porn are they?

Can you use some better images?

The images you used are horribly rendered, as in, you've(or someone has) cut them off a background, the result being dodgy images.



Secondly imo the main image used in the skin - the woman standing up - is of too low a quality, in such that it is pretty blurry. I would say the skin needed clear images to make it look good, ones that have been cut properly.


For example, something more of this quality:



Relatively small file size too, 267kb, and it's probably bigger dimensions than the one you're using now. Of course you couldn't use that image though, as her head has been chopped off

thanks for the tips danny i will try them in my skin to try and fix the word wheel problem, i do see what you mean about you wanting the celebrity to look her best i guess i can learn to live with it.

gotta say the res of those images from the screenshots is terrible

the images have without exception been cut from backgrounds by myself.  i'll admit that some aren't ideal, but i'm not a professional, i'm not getting paid and i did the best job i could without spending ridiculous amounts of time going over and over minute pieces.

that lindsay lohan bikini picture is a good one, but like you said, the head is cut off, plus i just decided to go in a different direction on that particular one

feel free to replace the images on your own computers if you're unhappy with them, should be pretty easy to find and no coding needed to replace them, just don't change the file names.

and yeah, the screenshot isn't great, it was done in paint in about 2 minutes just to give a quick overview of what it looks like......think of it as a computer game demo......it's just a low quality idea of what the finished product will look like .

Version 1.1 is already in the pipeline with some of the changes already suggested

I'll work on tidying up that main kelly brook picture as it is somewhat untidy (it was an early prototype picture which i didn't spend too much time on the pedantics of and ended up being left in untouched).  if anyone finds any similar major problems with other pictures in there then feel free to bring them to my attention and i'll see what i can do.

any other further suggestions are also appreciated.

and now a little cry for help

it was indirectly suggested further up to give the option to centre the taskbar icons.....i wanted to experiment with this, but i can't seem to get it to happen!  i've found the piece of code relating to the position of the icons, but i can only change it to be left or right, is there a "middle" or "centre" condition to apply to "layoutpos".....i've tried middle, center, centre, middlecentre, middlecenter and they all come up as "Invalid enumeration value" in the skin trace.

Make the background in the convo window way smaller. You need a very high convo window to properly see it. I don't think many people stretch their convo window that high.

vaccination, what i did orignially back when it was just the summertime skin was i had 2 sets of images one coloured for top one coloured for bottom you create a top resgroup and a bottom resgroup you set the skinoptions at the begining of you resgroup to indicate whether its the top or bottom resgroup you then put the plusskin tags in the 1001 definition files to say if top do this if bottom do this etc.

that will work fine if you have a single theme for your skin, however if your skin is like my 365 skin or other skins ive seen that have multiple themes then it causes problems, i am summizing that if i make the 4 word wheel images have a transparent background and define in my plusskin tags that the background colour be set to (255,0,0,0) so its completely transparent then the background underneather the wordwheel should be visible and word wheel should look ok however im yet to test this.

yeah you see the 4 images for the bottom are yellow the 4 images for the top are blue so they have to be in seperate resgroups. i tried making the images transparent and implementing it but it turns the images white so clearly in the case of my skin i cannot give an option for wordwheel to be top or bottom im forcing users to have it at the bottom as a result.

hi guys i tried this whole image compression thingy i got y skinpack size down from 5.02 megabytes to 2.81 megabytes bare in mind i also took out so no longer used files aswell. upon doing this i discovered my background that had been compressed look awful, where the tree background in christmas theme used to show the whole tree from pot to star it now only showed top half of the tree this made things look terrible and detracts from the intended design.

i was forced to replaced the compressed backgrounds with the originals my skinpack is now 4.33 megabytes. menthix can i ask that even though the size of my skinpack is pretty big that despite however large it gets you wont compress the images as i fear that users will end up getting poor quality backgrounds as a result.

Seems to happen only with this skin, if I close the contact list window and then re-open it, my nickname and personal message becomes nothing...as the screenshots below show...

okay, after a lot of messing around i've found the problem

it will affect a LOT of people's skins

it's to do with removing taskbar buttons.  when any taskbar button is removed that will happen if the window is closed and then opened again.

it's not just my skin, i've been testing with evo too and i think the screenshot speaks for itself.

it's because the elements are just being removed rather than hidden.

i'm guessing a solution would be to add in a "layoutpos=none" tag for when they're hidden, but i don't know for sure.  gonna test it a bit now, unless someone beats me to a solution

edit: incidentally, the correct view is restored by changing status, but this is by no means a permanent fix

thanks guys, my skin used to have this problem too when i first did the buttons on my skin i didnt know at the time it was related later on NILE pointed out that the way i had done my button removal may cause problems with messenger still didnt click that it was related to this problem but i did it anyway cause i value his advice, i must say i cant remember seeing the problem since but it really didnt click why until you guys mentioned it on here.

there will be a problem though, do you release as seperate skins or as one, in either case you need a way to lock out access to those under age, a 7 year old boy for example would love to download a skin from plus skins database that has fully naked woman in it but patchou on the other hand cant be seen to allow that to happen so how do you release such a skin thats your only snag with the red version idea.

Patchou is not responsible for what people download of their own accord. Having said which he probably would not want to be affiliated with nudity. Then again, it is not him who created the skin nor is it a product of Messenger Plus! and therefore he can't be held responsible for what people do with his software. Maybe it wouldn't get allowed to be put in the Skins Database, or maybe it would but only with a warning on it.

Up to Patchou at the end of day, and whether or not djdannyp even wants to make a nude version.(Which I don't think he does, I recall something about keeping it clean)

The skin is being kept totally clean, no nudity. 

I won't be making seperate versions, there's 1 SexySkin and i'm not creating break-offs.

All genres of women will be considered for the skin whether they're predominantly erotic models or not. 

As i've stated before, there will be some sort of vote for the community on at least 1 of the women who makes it into the next version (which due to Uni commitments isn't expected for some time).

... I never asked that the "red version" include nudes, only I ask if you can make a skin for models/popular actresses/people; and other for erotic models (like Playboy/PentHose) but non nude.

This would serve to be able to have two forms and not to have only one Skin of Gigantic weight.

Listen up guys. It is easy to create the skin and to put your own people in the program. Just got to read up on creating the skins and making the change.

I myself did that. I could not wait for djdannyp(no offense man) to update newer girls or even update it for WLM 9.0. So I did the update myself. Took some trial and error but I did it. And also based on that skin I created another called Hero Skin. Just ones of comic characters(Just having fun now).

It took some time but I did it. And before anyone asks. No I will not put it out to download. The program design is still djdannyp, and I will not put it out without his permission(Just hope he says yes though).

An update to the SexySkin is in the pipeline

I've just done a minor update so that it works with the properly with the new auto update feature, but that's just a minor change.

I'm having surgery tomorrow, but after that I plan to properly look at the skin, including the inclusion of at least 3 more women (one of whom I can confirm as being Jessica Alba) and to release a version 1.2

WLM 9.0 compatibility will not be added until its in its release format as the style is likely to change before then.

If anyone has any other suggestions for either women or features or if anyone has noticed any problems either with pictures or anything else then please don't hesistate to post

First you need to have messenger plus live installed, then click the download link and then choose "open" and it will automatically install the skin

Is there anymore news on the update for this?

I would really like to have this on WLM9

A full version 2.0 including new and updated pictures, cleaner graphics, new options and WLM9/14/2009 support is coming soon, I'm just trying to finih off the latest of the graphics before seeking translators and then a release shouldn't be too far off

The 2009 version is almost ready including several new faces, a new style of conversation window image, a new style toast and a custom options panel.

I'd like to ask for French and Spanish translators for the options panel....first come first served, both will get credit in the skin!  (If any other majority language users would like to offer their services then i'll consider it too!)

Once this is complete it should be ready for release not long after, as the graphics are now complete and the options are all in place.

Because I have only can take Bottom And I want it in Top
Cant choose TOP position

If you go to the options panel you can change the position of the dashboard.  Top is actually the default so unless you've changed it then it should already be at the top

Probably the screenshot that threw him of. But yes, once you installed it should be on top, otherwise go into the skin's options where you can choose between both.

You have to click a little to the right of where it says top, for some reason clicking on the words themselves doesn't select them

You should make it that you can add your own girls if it can be done,why is there one pciture on msn friends list and when you open up more than one convo why is it the same picture everytime should make it that a different picture pops up of the same girl

You should reduce the width value of StaticControl "Heading2.5" and "DDText" or move ComboBoxControl "ChangeWoman" and ListBoxControl "DashPos" to the right

PS: When I send you the french translation, I made the modification to avoid this kind of problem but you didn't apply them...
