WLM video call connection problem = "Your video call has ended" message by spwright31 on 01-13-2008 at 10:44 PM

I am having a connection problem in WLM Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1302.1018).  When I try to have a video call with a contact, WLM will try to connect for 30 seconds to 1 minute then displays a message "Your video call has ended".  I can IM with a contact but cannot video call / share my webcam.  FYI - my contact and I are running Windows XP Home.

I have read alot on sites about this problem and have done the following:

1.  Upgraded my modem firmware.
2.  Uninstalled and reinstalled WLM
3.  Disabled my McAfee Firewall and Webroot Spysweeper applications.

I have read about enabling Universal Plug and Play and manually enabling certain TCP/IP ports.  I do not know how to do this and can't find a straight forward explanation.  Microsoft Tech support and Qwest DSL tech support have been zero help.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

sometimes it works if you sign out and back in or when you restart your computer.
