By default, if  the feature is enabled, a contact will go to idle status after 10 minutes. This can be changed with WLM's options.

Tnx for the quote...

Some my buddy's don't use or Messenger Plus! and some of them been shown me like Idle some not...

If some of them have just Windows Live Messenger and nothing else, and dont use them for 10 minutes, they should be shown like Idle?! I talk about not changing any options like WLM or other...

Do you understand me?! :D

Regardless of whether they have Messenger Plus Live or not they will still be shown as Idle if they have the option selected (which it is by default).

To people who do not have Messenger Plus Live, the status will only appear to be "Away".....Messenger Plus just allows its users to distinguish between Away and Idle.

I hope this answers your question

yes, i believe WLM's default is to show as idle

RE: question about idle by username on 01-16-2008 at 11:47 PM

@djdannyp & meEtc tnx...

I just wonted to know how that works, and now I think that understand. :)

Idle after 10min. & WLM have default option to go Idle after that time & Messenger Plus! have option to recognize which is Idle & which is Away and must show if someone doesnt tipe anything for 10min like a Idle icon...

If I understand this good, this may go to lock. :D

Thanks u a lot... Best whishes...

Yeah, it seems that you have the hang of it

One small point though, Idle shows when the user has not touched their computer for [a default of] 10 minutes.

They could be doing other things on the computer but not using Windows Live Messenger and they would not go to Idle.

Idle occurs only if the user doesn't touch the mouse or keyboard for the default of 10 minutes.

Yes, yes, I see the option for default time to go on Away... Stupid me :)

One more time thanks for the explanation...

Over & out... May go to lock...

there are two statuses that have the same name (Away and Away.) Messenger Plus! renames one of those two to "Idle."
