backing up CD's by YourNeibour on 01-27-2008 at 08:12 PM

I want to make a backup of my copy of Windows XP Pro.  What is the best program to do it with?

I've been having some issues with Nero and Roxio.  Would CloneCD do the trick as it actually copies the CD's 1-1?

Not sure it's 100% legal to copy them (Windows Discs) even for backups. You'll do it anyway sowhy not just try CloneCD instead of asking?

no. your way better off copying all the files off the cd on to your hard disc the using windows cd writing  wizard..

of course you use clone cd it's the only one that handles boot sectors

uh, no it isn't? any program that makes an image of a CD will handle boot sectors (e.g. imgburn, which is free)

I use a program called ISOPuzzle to make cd backups. its meant to be a data recovery program, but it works to make plain ISO's too

Rip it to an ISO with Isobuster, and then burn it back with Nero, or whatever.
