How do I get a new IP address from my router i have DHCP release and Renew buttons. RE: Getting a new IP address by Menthix on 01-31-2008 at 03:26 PM Do you want a new external IP (from Rogers) or an internal IP provided by your router's DHCP? RE: Getting a new IP address by YourNeibour on 01-31-2008 at 04:01 PM external IP address so i can bypass rapidshare. So ya I guess i need an external IP from rogers. But you tell me RE: Getting a new IP address by MeEtc on 01-31-2008 at 04:04 PM you release your current IP, and then renew it. If you end up getting the same IP back, unplug your modem for an hour or so, and hope you get a new IP RE: Getting a new IP address by YourNeibour on 01-31-2008 at 04:15 PM how do i release and renew my current ip? You open up cmd (Windows key + R and type "cmd" without quotes and press enter). Then you type: quote: View different commands available: quote: Renew: quote: Release ip: quote: If you leave the name of the connection blank, it'll probably release all connections. RE: Getting a new IP address by MeEtc on 01-31-2008 at 04:28 PM You'll have to log into your router's control panel, and find out how to release and renew from there. If you run the command prompt, all that will do is get a new 192.168.x.x address from the router, not from Rogers RE: RE: Getting a new IP address by TheSteve on 02-01-2008 at 12:03 AM
quote:Unless of course your computer is connected to the router via USB. Which happens occasionally. RE: Getting a new IP address by ShawnZ on 02-01-2008 at 12:20 AM
