program help by YourNeibour on 02-01-2008 at 02:52 PM

I have a bunch of movies clips on my computer in seperate folders and I want to make a list of what I have, i have approximatly 80gigs of it.  Is there a program on the market that will help me automate this, the clips are devided into seperate directories.

thanks

I've not come across a program that does this, so I simply reverted to using playlists in WMP. I use the master video directory, with the file location sorted from directory to directory, and add the clips to the designated playlist.

but i don't want to play them...what i want to do is compile it into a word document or a txt file.

step 3
run ocr software
step 4
ocr the screen dump

what is the OCR?

I'm guessing OCR is an image to text converter.

I could write you up something in JScript, but it is a lot of effort.....

ROFL!  That's a good one!

I think this is somewhat simpler, though:

dir c:\*.avi /s > avilist.txt

The command line is your friend.

Optical Character Recognition. Most scanners I've bought have this and so finding software shouldn't be that hard, maybe just getting the programs to do exactly what you want with an image rather than a scanned document
