Robot 9000 messenger script? by andrewlinn957 on 02-22-2008 at 08:32 PM

Robot 9000 is a script used in the xkcd-signal IRC room. Yes, i know IRC is different to messenger. I was wondering if a possible adaptation would be possible.  It would require that all messages (incoming and outgoing) be compared to a log of all previously sent messages (to a single user). Then, if a message appears twice (if you repeat yourself) you are prevented from sending a message for a period of time.

The whole idea of this is to encourage originality so as to prevent crappy conversations full of 'sup man' and 'nothin much.'

soz if this is a stupid question

It could be done, but the other person would need it too to make them be more creative...

It could be done? Nice! Someone get going on it then :P Or maybe i'll break out the tutorials.

Yeah I suppose the idea would be to send it to the person with which you wanted to do it with.  Pretty cool that it's possible though.

great username btw.
