So, while browsing the net tonight looking for my digital channels locally since I have to get ATSC converters for my TVs, I ran across an article with the statuses of like, every show possible I think.  Find your favorites but avoid the red ones...for they have been cancelled.

RE: Post Writers Guild Strike Show Statuses by Discrate on 02-25-2008 at 01:09 PM

Watching it on tv is way better

RE: Post Writers Guild Strike Show Statuses by vaccination on 02-25-2008 at 04:04 PM

depends what video/auido setup you have for your pc.

Personally I'll watch it on my tv monitor(26") with 5.1 surround if I'm the only wanting to watch it. If my dad or mum also watches the series I'll burn to dvd and have it on the 42", 7.1 surround downstairs.

waiting sucks, tv and film industry needs to realise world wide release needs to be happening.

Okay, you go write a decent series of 24, cast everyone, film it, produce it, advertise it and we'll see how long that takes you.

Not to mention there could be many other reasons why they have to postpone it.

Sometimes it is physically impossible, they said on the official lost podcast a while ago, that sometimes the episodes would come in from post production mere hours from the airtime.

Although, Sky and Channel 4 are pretty good in the UK, as there is usually only a few days delay between the episode airing in america and airing in the UK.

A few days is fine, but when they release things months after the American(or whatever the primary country is) release it's not really acceptable in this day and age, it's just a marketing scheme. Lost is good, it comes on Sky, I think, 2 days after the American showing. If people could follow in their footsteps it'd be great. They wouldn't loose so many viewers if they did(ie, people can wait 2 days to watch something and not download it)

What if the cast are busy doing other jobs at the time? The lead character could be ill, on paternity leave etc etc.

It doesn't matter what there doing there on a contract. Fair enough if there ill but were paying for something thats not there. One of the reasons i got sky it because i watch 24.

Sky has nothing to do with it, so you're not paying for anything. It's not Sky's fault it's delayed.

Secondly I think you're mighty confused over this whole contract thing. Their contract is unlikely to house specific dates for things this far down the line. the contracts are usually only series based and so they would need to be re-hired for the next series, which might have to wait as they are engaged in another contract which is currently taking place.

Its a shame that 24 is delayed but i still got to watch the final 3 episodes of heroes season 2 that I haven't watched yet, Same with prison break, Also got like 8 seasons of friends to watch :P

They are trying to get shows released here as soon as possible to stop people downloading the episodes. Thats why shows like Lost are only 1 week behind. I still download them anyway :P

Edit: Oh it seems everyone already mentioned this 8-)
RE: Post Writers Guild Strike Show Statuses by Basilis on 02-26-2008 at 01:23 PM

Personally I am glad that they stopped writing because here in Greece we're still on the First season of Prison Break so now we can catch up since the next week our tv will show the second season. Fortunately, they show one episode per day.
