Translations needed by Soardra on 03-07-2008 at 12:25 AM

Ok, I have a couple of things I need translated. One is to translate the pirate speech strings I've made (My boyfriend's already working on the Swedish version) for a skin I'm working on. If you wish to help state either in here or via PM and I'll PM the strings to you.

Next is a few accounts my dad (who is an accountant) needs translated from Mexican Spanish to English. I have a friend who is from Chili, but since each country has a different dialect of it he can't translate it all D:

Desglose de gastos comunes
Gastos Aduanales
Gastos de PREV
Mat's de Trabajo (envases)
Pap y Art de Oficina
Multas
No deductibles
Comis Bancarias
Gastos de Maniobra
Anualidad Serv Tradewear

If we can get this translated ASAP it would be appreciated.

this is not a forum to request free translations...

also, your friend from "chili" can't translate that because its all misspelled and mistyped, and using some sort of abbreviations unknown to common man.

oh and you never say please or thanks.

RE: Translations needed by Soardra on 03-07-2008 at 03:19 AM

I had the impression that I could request translations there and I thought "Well, why not ask about this minor little thing that will help my dad out?" No, I get shuffled out of it and smacked on the hand like I just tried to take a cookie out of the cookie jar. I didn't see any rules there. I didn't know it wasn't "Free" and from what I saw people were complaining that they were bored!

:o Please, don't dis my friend just because you can't understand some company account titles. I figured someone from Mexico would be able to figure out what the heck they stood for if anyone could. If I had a friend from Mexico I would have asked him/her since I don't like getting translations from total strangers let alone a strange forum. I figured, what about Plus!? I'm integrating myself there, they seem friendly.

I said "It would be appreciated" which is much like please and thank you wrapped into one. *sighs* I'm getting too tired for this already...

* Soardra gives up on getting anything translated here yet and requests this thread is deleted *

* Chrono slaps voldemort around a bit with a large trout.

i dont see why cant you ask for translations here? it isn't such a big deal, if you didnt want to help you shouldnt have posted at all :dodgy:

As for the translation itself, it doesn't matter where are you from. As Voldemort stated, most of the lines there are mispelt or using some weird abbreviations, so i can't help you.

Let's give it a try.

Detail of common costs:
   Customs Costs
   PREV Expenses
   Work materials (bottles/containers)
   Paperwork and office material
   Fees/charges
   Not deductible
   Bank commissions
   Work costs (manual labor)
   Annual Serv Tradewear

That's pretty much the best translation a normal human that speaks this "mexican dialect" as a native language can do, everything is misspelled and badly abbreviated.

Thank you, WDZ, you saved me from Mr. Carboni.

What Soarda said is "Customs duty" or "Customs fee" or something like that. Voldemort's translation is, in spanish, "Gastos anuales" where "anual(es)" comes from "aņo" which means "year" and "aduanal(es)" comes from "aduana" which is "customs" :P ;)

i'd prefer "fines" instead of "fees/charges", but that translation may be ok too :)

no, no, no... I wasn't being sarcastic... I just agreed with you, really. I just didn't want to write more than that (being lazy :P)

first time i read it, it took me a while until i understood that word (aduanales)... it isn't a common word in spain... we would have used "de aduana" instead :)

Hmm, this is as far as my father could get it translated with an online translator o.o I'm wondering if the abbreviations were actually in English or something? Anyway, I told my dad to try asking their translator to translate for him because unknown stuff is prolly something the company made up.

Accountants aren't very well liked by companies and try to find ways to confuse them and or scare them into misrepresenting things. My accounting teacher was stuck on a forklift (not strapped on in any way shape or form) which was first lifted up then run full speed to the opposite side of the warehouse, then lowered. The operator did this several times and she was left clinging to it for dear life all the way there and back and all around the warehouse (which was quite large btw).
