Just uninstalled vista sp1 beta by Jimbo on 03-19-2008 at 04:02 PM

I just uninstalled sp1 beta, but the evaluation copy watermark is still on my desktop and apparently my windows is going to stop working after 3 months, where can i re-enter my vista serial number? Or does anyone know a fix, and yes i did legally pay for vista home premium

There'll updates on Windows Update, install them and restart your PC thereafter installing the official Service Pack 1.

That will solve the evaluation copy.

I cannot find the official SP1 on windows update, is there another download link direct from the microsoft site?
Edit: And yes, installing a couple of security updates from windows update did remove the message and got rid of the evaluation copy, thanks

If it appears on Windows Update then you shouldn't ignore it.
I, personally, don't give these notices (unless it's really important) a second look. The standalone installer is usually bigger than those appear on Windows Update.

In essence the windows update one is adaptive based on what updates you already have installed

So if i install from the link, nothing bad can happen, only some updates my be installed twice, which could take longer?

Nothing bad will happen.  It's just a bigger download.

I personally always use the full service pack downloads instead of Windows update.

Not necessarily a good idea since SP1 will not appear in windows update if there are driver conflicts, like in my case :refuck:.
