tech question by matt on 03-21-2008 at 08:58 PM

Hi,

Can anybody help me.
I need to know what "SIP" means.  I need to know a very simple definition for that word.

Is that the same as ISDN?  Thank you.(Y)

tks a lot.  i have seen the page you sent me in your reply.

the definition is the following:

SIP
Session Initiation Protocol. This is the call-control protocol used by your telephone.

but still don't quite get it.   i am looking for more simple definitions, call control, etc.

Do you mean this?

It's used in VoIP, like Skype.

Edit: Ah, too late.

Well I've tried reading about it so I can put it simpler but it's not a simple thing. Maybe this will help:
