Virus!? Please help! by Necron on 03-24-2008 at 03:18 PM

Hi!

At first I want to excuse me, but me English isn't very well.

My problem is that I seem to have received a virus or something via MSN-Messenger. I'm sending strange messages to all my friends consisting an order named "MyPhoto39". When this happens all my friend's windows are opening an MSN stops working correctly and I need to shut it down in order to use it again.
I can't prevent MSN from sending these strange messages and files, but I want to use the messenger again in future. I tried do delete MSN and installed it again, but the problem appeared once more.

So please, how can I fight this virus?

No, it doesn't. I followed every step, but the virus is still operating.

High Speed Chaser's standard virus reply.

Here are some free anti-viruses that you can download (in no particular order).
Please note you should only have one resident anti-virus program

Or try either of these free online scanners
All are Free.

Remember the best virus defence is common sense and always check with your contact!

Search the forums!

Do you have an anti-virus scanner? If not download a full program from the first list. If you do have an anti-virus update then run it or use from the second list.

A combination of 2 programs from the third list and 1 from the top list should be sufficient to remove the virus and protect the computer in the future.

I accually had the virus myself and it seemed to disaper after some basic virus scans, i wouldn't worry about it, even though it is very anouying.

Yes some of the viruses actually do seem to magically disappear without a trace but I hardly believe that is the case. It's likely if it disappeared like that it would've left some sort of footprint behind still causing subtle damage.
