Pixel Shaders are a hardware feature, you can't download something to make it work. RE: SM3 pc ,graphic help by LieutenantPetrelli on 03-27-2008 at 10:50 PM

Well, its OK for my needs. I don't play that many games. It plays The Orange Box just fine, at medium settings and ~30fps. RE: SM3 pc ,graphic help by LieutenantPetrelli on 03-27-2008 at 11:19 PM

quote:Depends on more the connection. the video card only determines visual, model effects and things, lag is caused by the internet connection. Correct me if i am wrong someone RE: SM3 pc ,graphic help by Baggins on 03-28-2008 at 07:07 PM Well, it is somewhat dependent on your connection. Remember also that there is more stuff going on in an online game requiring more power. RE: RE: SM3 pc ,graphic help by andrewdodd13 on 03-28-2008 at 11:23 PM
quote:Generally, you're correct. However, if a game lags in single player then it will of course also lag in multiplayer. The two definitions are quite different, even though to the casual gamer they seem the same. - Processing Lag: When the computer can't keep up with the amount of processing required to do a frame render. If you get this a lot, it's time to buy a new PC. - Network Latency Lag: When the connection between the client and server doesn't allow necessary data to be transmitted quickly enough, the client has to wait. If you can hear the game but not see it, it may be that it's running in a frequency beyond that of the capabilities of your card / monitor. Make sure that your monitor is specified correctly in the display properties. |
