My first Xbox 360 issue realisation... by Eddie on 04-26-2008 at 02:02 PM

I have come to the realisation and haven't heard of this issue before somehow, all my discs are beginning to get scratches, not normal scratches from bad use but in a continuous circle, anyone know how to stop this from happening? *-)

don't tilt the Xbox whilst the disc is inside spinning...

well that's the only way it could be happening. Unless you have your xbox lying upside down?

I think he'd know if it was upside down, because the disk would fall out, and he wouldn't be putting it in at the top.

(another reason for why to go down the ps3 road <3)

I heard of a technical fault that causes some games to scratch due to the Xbox's design:

Indeed Nathan, that's a fanboy comment there. :P

Eddie: If you're sure that your XBox isn't tilted, then call MS customer support. I doubt it's likely that there's anything you can do yourself to fix it.

I think mine did this but they replaced the drive after the first RROD.

The scratches on my discs aren't like the ones in that wikipedia page, there more closer to the center of the discs *-) and i know its not tilted because its standing right infront of me *-)

Do you notice it happening? Mine would freeze and then struggle to read the disc and make a grinding noise.

Yeah, give that x360 some stress and it will RROD in no time ;)
