Question about idling? by ChaosNataku on 05-09-2008 at 04:02 AM

I was just wondering how the idle system for MessengerPlus! Live works. Is it similar to how AIM's idle system works, where the contact is away from the computer for x-amount of minutes? Or is it a little more accurate, say the messenger is idle for x-amount of minutes?

And how long before it is considered idling also?

Idle status is a feature of MSN/WLM itself, nothing to do with Messenger Plus at all. The only thing Messenger Plus does is change the visible name of the status to you, otherwise you will just see "Away" for both Away and Idle.

You can change the settings for this within WLM general options.

Ahhh, my apologies. Haha, I misread the description wrong several times. ^_^"

Messenger Plus! does have the feature, but rather it just replaces "Away" as "Idle." Same diff, sorry. x-x

So then when that thing says "Inactive" is that referring to the entire PC? Or just the messenger itself?

If you move the mouse, you are no longer idle
