Messenger avoid blocking firewall/proxy by m0rph3us on 05-10-2008 at 02:16 PM

Hi guys,
does anybody knows some kind of way to let messenger avoid a blocking firewall and proxy?. Here's my problem: while I'm at work I'm behind a firewall that blocks everything except web traffic. And to browse Internet we can only use a squid proxy with a stupid content filtering policy that blocks practically everything...I really really really really want to be able to use messenger (I spend all day and frequently late at night working, I just want to keep contact with friends) does anyone know some kind of trick to let me use messenger??? Please help me!!

Cheers
m0rph3us

I've seen this problem in another thread ( http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=83737 ) ... Like I said there, I use a public VPN with OpenVPN to avoid every kind of firewall ( cause it passes from the https port, and it cannot be detected). But the certificate to authenticate with the public VPN costs a few bucks a month. If you want to try it send me a private message and I'll give you the address.

Cheers!!!
