Rogue message? by lk66 on 05-28-2008 at 06:12 PM

Yesterday and today, every time I sign in to MSN I am getting this message pop up in a little window, bottom right of my screen: 'you have one unread message in your others folder'.

When checking my email, there is no message... and there isn't an 'others' folder either?!

Just a rogue MSN message?

Could it perhaps be talking about a sharing folder?

With one of your contacts

As far as I'm aware I haven't set up a 'shared' folder with one of my contacts... where/how do I look/check this? Thanks

Well, if you do have a shared folder with one of your contacts, when you open a chat with him/her, the shared folders will be activated and you will be notified with a message. Also, a file named shared folders will be created in "My documents"

I've had this happening as well and it appears to be a problem with the email service. I might get this message that i have two unread messages, login to hotmail, read them, delete them but they still show up on WLM as 2 unread. Signing out and signing in clears this.
