Xbox 360 XSATA and Game saves by Jimbo on 06-06-2008 at 04:11 PM

I've decided to go buy an XSATA for my xbox 360 so i can transfer saves from the computer and get more Gamerscore, but I cant really find a good guide on the net about it. Does anyone know how to, or know of a good guide?
Also, what is this thing about some saves work, but some have to be resigned and stuff? And as 360gamesaves.com is invite only, anyone know of any good game saves sites??
Thanks.

i don't think you can save and retrieve game saves on an external hdd if that's what you mean...

If you go on live with hacked saves and stuff you will most likely be banned and have your gamerscore reset as its classed as cheating *-)

Or you could not be a douche and learn to earn achievements with your own skill.

Is there any benefit in having a high gamerscore, except from the penis-like-mine-is-bigger factor? Seems like a huge waste of money. Nobody but yourself actually cares about scores/ratings.

They cannot tell you have cracked saves if 1) You do it offline so theres no dates saved or anything and 2) if you resign the saves to your profile and xbox.

Just get a modded xbox. Burn 60 games like me, and get like a few achievements per game.

I got like 2400.

iXtreme 1.4b is to this date undetectable, provided your discs are iXtreme Security Sector patched :p

Damn, I need to get a 360.
I've still got an unmodded original xBox...

But then again, I don't play too many games :P

Duuude, softmod your original - requires no hardware skills (or any skills) whatsoever.
I bought a copy of the MechAssault game from Ebay (made sure it was the right edition by asking the seller for the serial key on the disc) for $8 and a USB to XBOX Controller Port cable (so that you can transfer the saved game file/installer from your PC to XBOX, you can even make your own cable, there's plenty of guides) for $4.
The benefit of being able to watch pretty much every video format out there and without having to burn anything to a disc (you can transfer files across a LAN) is amazing for use as a media centre hooked up to the family TV. Of course you can also play backup copies, although the original xbox didnt have many worth playing :P

Was definitely worth the $12 investment :p In fact, even after purchasing a 360 I still use my original XBOX for viewing any video/movie on the TV.

PS: You can even go out and rent the MechAssault game, but most video stores dont have the discs inside so you can't really check the serial key.

Yeah, vacc has a point :P
I've got 4985 from a total of 8 games (2 of which I haven't played for more than an hour).

I have not beaten any of my games, I lose interest :p

I'll beat them all over the summer...watch my gamerscore get raped up ;-)

How do I do that?
A quick Google shows that I have to connect the HDD to a computer running Linux. But after that, what do I do?

Also, will I be able to use xBoxLive after that (not that I have ever used it before, but you know, just in case... :P)?
