minimized window flashing by Freeze_Riggs on 06-07-2008 at 07:38 AM

could a script or patch be made that could change the color of the flashing to a different color than orange? or say assign a different color of your choice to each minimized contact's window?

No, you can't change the colour of the flashing animation in the task bar.

This is because the flashing background is defined in the currently selected Windows visual style, which can depend from system to system. Actually, the background isn't a simple colour, it is a replacement image for the 'normal' task bar button background. Therefore, to change the colour of it, you'd have to change the visual style in run-time or something (which is almost impossible, given that you need a patched uxtheme.dll to apply non-signed styles) or draw the button yourself in some way. None of these methods are easy to implement or certain to work properly, so I recommend you to drop the idea of colouring the flashing background... unless someone else says otherwise. :P

Would it be possible to do on the WLM plus tabbed chats?

Or would that be a similar problem just in another place? :P

This is already possible with a quick registry edit or by using the enhancer script (you can search for either)

I'm already using the enhancer script and I see nothing about changing the color of tabbed chats.

The Messenger Plus! Tweak Live script does nothing more than giving you some sort of GUI to modify the special registry keys provided by Plus!.

Take a look at the script's code, it might be a good start. I haven't succeeded in changing the flash colour for the tabs, but maybe that's because I'm using the Windows Aero Messenger skin at the moment. :)
