False Messages by ktulu on 08-21-2008 at 08:23 PM

Hello, hope this is the right place.

My MSN sometimes recieves messages "from" people I know that clearly didn't send them like links to dating services. I always ignore them but recently a friend told me mine does that alot to him.
Then today my mom got a link asking her to sign in with her MSN password which she did and when she later went to use MSN or something or other (her describing it), it gave her an "already logged in message".

I am sure it is no big deal on her end she is not the best with computers but is there a way I can get this bug gone that you know of?

Thank you

These messages are from virus infected computers. When your mom logged into that site, it collected her information and will now sign her in and send those messages to other people. Tell her to change her password immediatley

This one's not actually a virus, but a phishing attack.

And I hate to sound harsh, but anyone who falls for a phishing attack deserves everything they get. It's not like they're hard to spot.

If you read what ktulu posted, you would have known he's probably infected too.
I had a problem like this a while ago (came with a crack for some other program:() and I fixed it by running MSN Cleaner, as my regular antivirus and antispyware programs wouldn't pick it up.
