Tabbed chat window can't stay minimized by zeroxmxi on 08-28-2008 at 02:17 AM

When I've received a couple of messages from various contacts, a tabbed chat window pops up and I'd reply to them and usually minimize it to the task bar after I am done. However, the tabbed window restored itself from the minimized position whenever I minimize OTHER windows.

It is as simple as launching notepad first, then minimize the tabbed chat window, which after I minimized the notepad window, the tabbed chat window restored itself when it should have been still remained in its minimized state.

I hope this problem can be fixed, patchou :D, it's probably a minimize windows event problem, looks that way to me.

Related information about my system when I discover this annoying symptom.

I'm using transparent windows, all of them in including the tabbed windows.

This was a by design previously when Plus! 4 was first in the beta stage the testers didn't agree with it and it was changed. This is surprising that it is happening again.

What is the the (!VER) when you type it in a conversation.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1018
Messenger Plus! Live 4.70.0.334
Skin: Crystal Lab 1.0

I downloaded Plus! last week, for the first time.

This is actually a known limitation with tabbed chatting windows.

If you don't want the windows to pop up then either:

1. Don't enable tabs
2. Don't minimise everything else

At the moment there is nothing else that can be done about it

Ok.  Thank you for your assistance with this.   I really like having the tabbed feature at work.  I'll just deal with it.  LOL

"deal with it?"

it's terrible annoying! :S

at least one option to turn it on or off
it's even worst when you're in a lapton and take a few seconds to minimize it again a lot of times.

Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1 (6.0.6001)
Windows Live Messenger 8.5.1018

This is not a "feature" of Plus! for the tabs to pop-up after other windows are minimized. This is a known limitation and the only way around it are the two that djdannyp posted.
