Auto-update problem by djdannyp on 09-11-2008 at 04:48 PM

I have the same problem noted here

mynetx's reply to Auto-Update for Skins & Scripts FAQ

Hrm, I have a ScriptInfo like this one:
code:
<ScriptInfo>
    <Information>
        <Name>WLMStatus</Name>
        <Version>1.1.8</Version>
        <AllowAutoUpdate>false</AllowAutoUpdate>
    </Information>
    <InstallDir>WLMWebStatus</InstallDir>
</ScriptInfo>

But the Update Checker shows me the WLMStatus 1.19.36 update nevertheless, when calling it via /checkupdates... ?!

I've done a search but it doesn't look like it was ever reported other than its mention in that thread (which came to an end when menthix told him to report it as a bug)

I use a different version of my sexyskin to the one in the database (mine is a special version only for me that has disable ad options in the options window) and I've set the SkinInfo to not autoupdate, but when i do a /checkupdates it still shows me the version in the database

Could you...
- Exit Messenger
- Zip the sexyskin and WLMStatus folders
- Send me the file or a link to it at menthix@yunasoftware.com ?

EDIT: Got your email, thanks. I can't spot any error in the XML, looks like a bug. Forwarded your mail to Patchou, I'll keep you updated.

The AllowAutoUpdate parameter is part of the new of "auto-update values" and for that reason, it is considered by Plus! only if you specify an UpdateId and a BuildNumber :).

RE: Auto-update problem by djdannyp on 09-12-2008 at 04:49 PM

Adding an UpdateID and BuildNumber does indeed make the problem go away

However, surely if autoupdate is set to false it shouldn't need to have an update ID for it to work......because by definition it doesn't need an update id as it is not to be automatically updated

I can see the point. Sorry it was designed like that :p.

Can it be undesigned like that for the next release :P?
