The new "important/normal threads" bars don't look nice (at least on a white gray background)

Agreed i was like WTF

A darker blue would be a better colour i think.....it's more in keeping with the forum theme......no purples in sight normally

Sorry, I'm not much of a web designer... I figured someone would complain.

I like having a clear divider between the sticky and normal threads, but I don't know what color to make it. =(

Edit: it's a bit darker and less purple now.

But yeah, change the colour to any shade of light blue...

The reversed gradient (lighter at the top) is a good idea... I'm not sure about the text color though. The blue makes it look like a link.

As long as it helps guests at the forum, I think it's a good idea. The way it looks now isn't bad either so.
