No sound from Flash files :( by Th3rmal on 10-03-2008 at 03:00 AM

Today i was viewing sams new video, when i noticed there was no sound. At first i thought this was because the video had to sound, so i took no notice of it. Then later on i went onto youtube and started viewing a video. Now the video has no sound either and also seems to try to buffer what it has already downloaded. I searched around and found that to make it have sounds again i have to use the attached reg file.
So i did that.
It still doesnt work. Also, the videos seem to play for 2 seconds before stopping :S

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try some of the solutions from this guide, found on Google;

http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm

Hope you can fix your problem, if none of these work, let me know and i'll continue to try and help :)

EDIT: I would remove or roll back the effects of that registry file of your's before attempting to fix your problem. Leaving it in place could hinder you. :(

Thank you for that link.
It seemed to be a corrupted download, so clearing the temp files did the trick (still need to test some things).
Also, regarding the reg file, i believe it was the exact same as what i had before, but i made a backup of it just in case so i will use that now.

I had the same problem. Found out the problem is the Java addon. If you disable Java, the problem should be fixed.

Note: The problematic one is JAVA, not JavaScript.
