need help with hostgator stuff by Hybrid on 10-13-2008 at 09:04 AM

Hey guys, I'm still new to actually owning a website, and I need some help with some things.

First of all, any help with registering my FTP (hostgator) to Dreamweaver would be great, but what's really important at the moment is:

-How do I set up my webhost (hostgator) to my registered domain (Netfirm). Not sure how to do this since everytime I go to my site it says Netfirm.

-I also don't know how to set up a main page. I already have the page and all that made, just don't know how to tell HostGator to make it my index. Thanks, as you can tell I'm a newb and I'm just trying something new.

Interesting thing going on here, I'm going for word by word on the website on how to set up my web disk on Vista, and it says:

Manual connection instructions
1. From the desktop, click on Start and then Computer.
2. Then, click on Map Network Drive.
3. From that screen, click Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures, and then click Next.
4. Click Choose a custom network location, and then click Next.
5. Enter the following in the Internet or network address field:

    * http://holytank.com:2077

6. Enter your WebDisk username and password when prompted.

But when I put in the address it says "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please enter another."

Thanks.

::EDIT::

It seems no matter what I do my FTP isn't working. It keeps telling me it can't connect to my FTP servers, not sure what the problem is.
