No that would require an email to over 50 million users.
AFAIK, if you are using 8.5 and the latest plus!, when the new version of Plus! is available, you will be notified and will be asked if you would like to update

I was using latest plus, but did a mistake like installing latest WLM, thus my messenger plus installation is inactive now.

I understand that mailing about 50M users is a problem, but you can at least mail to this forum members (78k total), can't you?

I don't think the next Plus! version will be released trough auto update immediately, because it will be released as a public beta version first. But you could keep an eye on the news (subscribe to its RSS feed for automatic notifications).

Eve if a new version is released trough auto update, it the worse case you could get that notification more than 3 weeks after the actual release. Auto update usually isn't activated together with the release on the site, but 1 or 2 weeks later to spread bandwidth and to make sure no serious bugs are released in the auto update. Also, auto update will only check for an update once a week, again, to save server resources.

Not everybody will appreciate that, it could be considered spammy. If you want to receive emails about Messenger Plus! news you could use a RSS to E-Mail service so you are mailed whenever something new is posted in the newsfeed.

Sending PM to every single user is a tedious work and is practically not possible.

Mass mail cannot be considered as spam if the receivers have selected the option "Yes" to the question
"Allow board Administrators to send you email notices?"
in their board options.

Probably not, but I'm sure it will still annoy a bunch of people. Amyway, subscribing to the newsfeed (either by RSS or E-mail) is still easier as you wont need to register anywhere an still receive all news.

I'm checking the site like everyday wanting it to come out so no problem for me i guess but if an admin really wanted to send out a mass pm its not that hard I mean most board software includes a mass message feature to send out a pm to every user but yeh it wouldn't really be a point to it cus if a user is on the site they would see its out anyways.
