Misleading information for date tags for registry settings by ahmetgns on 10-19-2008 at 10:25 AM

Date tags information in Messenger Plus! Live - Registry Settings page is misleading. It says

quote:
Enclose text in single quotes. Example: "dd'/'MM" will produce "18/10" for October 18th.
however when you set it just like in this example, Plus! cannot create any file/directory for chat logs because Windows doesn't allow a file name to contain / character as well as \ : * ? " < > | characters.

This limitation should be clearly noted there. I searched the forum for this but I am surprised because noone hasn't reported that yet since the introduction of registry settings :S

Also the information about using texts in the registry data can be changed because any character other than those joker characters like H, h, M, m etc. which follow the the Time Tags and Date Tags headings can be used without using single quotes before and after them. For example if user sets the value in registry as
code:
HH:mm:ss
or
code:
yyyy-MMMM
it will still work correctly.

Very few people change the Registry settings, so it's no surprise it took this long to find it.
