Alright so like, I recently tried switching power supplies to a different one I had, and it was fried so I switched back. I also tried switching processors but the other one wouldn't let me boot up so I switched it back. RE: Audio not working by bigb88 on 10-31-2008 at 02:01 PM
reboot in safemode, open device manager look under sound and remove all the sound drivers reboot see if windows picks them up if it does not then go to the driver site for your soundcard or get your cd's out u got with the computer.. RE: Audio not working by Curtis on 11-01-2008 at 05:58 AM I don't have a soundcard. I've already tried removing sound drivers. I didn't get any cds with my computer because it's custom built by my dad and I. RE: Audio not working by Phillip on 11-01-2008 at 06:21 AM If you build your own computer you still get the CDs with the drivers on unless it's all 2nd hand. The only things I can think of is you are installing the incorrect drivers, you have not plugged your speakers in correct, you haven't selected the right input in the sound settings or your speakers are just fucked. RE: Audio not working by Th3rmal on 11-01-2008 at 06:29 AM Have you tried a different set of speakers? Or maybe plugging one set into the front/back of the PC? RE: Audio not working by Curtis on 11-01-2008 at 07:02 AM It was working fine, then the other day when I switched some things in my computer and then switched back to the old stuff the sound didn't work. Yes, I've tried multiple speakers/headphones in all ports. RE: Audio not working by Curtis on 11-03-2008 at 12:52 AM I just installed Windows 7 yesterday, and it's still not working. I've tried every port with all of the speakers/headphones I have. RE: Audio not working by Eddie on 11-03-2008 at 04:43 AM Are you sure you didn't knock anything in your computer, or put something in upside down, when i fiddled with my computer i put a few of the plugs back in upside down and it booted but didn't allow sound. RE: Audio not working by Curtis on 11-04-2008 at 06:11 AM I'm positive. All that was changed in my computer was the Power Supply and the CPU. RE: Audio not working by bigb88 on 11-04-2008 at 06:59 AM
Curtis - if u just installed a new os u need to redo your sounddrivers bro RE: Audio not working by Curtis on 11-05-2008 at 05:53 AM I've already clearly stated that it's onboard sound. I've tried drivers over and over again. Do you read the whole thread or only the most recent post? |
