Do you have GDI++ installed? If so please read [split] incompatibility with GDI++.
I assume it is a very similar problem at the very least.

Do you have XP Service Pack 3 installed?
The blank buttons are caused by a missing font file. I've seen a similar thing on a program we run at work and it seems to happen on computers without Service Pack 3.

As far as I know you should have the proper Tahoma.ttf font in your computer. It may be corrupted. So find this font on Google and save to your fonts folder (in Control Panel). You may have to start your computer in safe mode for a successful replacement.
