As its a little hard to video a TV and give you the true idea of what I'm getting at, you'll have to bear with me and my literal & non-technical explaination. But if you need any photo's, give me a shout, my girlfriends camera is around here somewhere.

Bascially, my gf practically lives with me, and has decided to bring her TV over. its a Philips, model number 23PF5321/01 to be exact.

I got my Virgin Media set top box through the standard 21-pin SCART & my Xbox 360 through the White, Red & Yellow one (don't know the name sorry ) and both come on screen, sound, everything fine. Except one thing. Images are a little scrappy & fuzzy. I'm watching a programme and it looks like maggots are on a girls face. Like a static picture with the TV image thrown over it, if any of that makes sense.

On my old TV (very very old TV), the images were fine. Just incase, I replaced the SCART lead with a brand new one, still not working. This never happened at my gf's house with her dvd player or Sky (the picture was crystal clear) so I'm totally stumped. I caled Philips, the man on the phone said he didn't know. I've tried reinstaling from scratch to factory settings, all picture options, everything I can think of.

I am totally stumped!

EDIT: Not using HD although it is HD Ready.

Welcome to the world of analog on a digital set.

Use Component from the STB (Set top box) to the TV. Component is Red Green Blue for video and Red and White for audio. The Xbox is using Composite (Red, Yellow, White; Yellow for video Red and White for audio).

Sounds like ghosting... need a picture to verify. And what type of connection is going between the STB and the TV? Does it happen ONLY on the STB or the Xbox as well?

Not likely to be any help because of where you live.

However one thing I noticed is that SCART is analog not sure how it is in comparison to coax though... If you have the option of using Component (RGB+RW) then use that instead.

As for the STB, its just one scart, simple as that, no extenders, no splitting, nothing, and the same for Xbox too. Yes, it happens on both the Xbox and STB too. I tried connecting RW&Y to a 21 pin and using it like that, but still, same problem.

If so the TV may have been damaged in transit..

To ensure this i'd advise taking it to a friends and trying their freeview box or Xbox... See if this makes a difference..
