WLM2009 Default Skin Problems by DaRk_ViVi on 01-11-2009 at 11:12 AM

Since i have installed WLM 2009 final (14.0.8050.1202) i'm having this strange problem with the default skin: if I resize a conversation Window i get the standard Windows bar on the top instead of the skinned one, and all the "skin" doesn't work anymore (no animation when i hover a button, but they works if i click).
I have the same problem (the bar one) on the contact list but it seems to be permanent.

I'll post a couple of images to explain better:

Bugged Contact List skin (buttons works fine until i resize it):

Are you using a theme on windows?

RE: WLM2009 Default Skin Problems by DaRk_ViVi on 01-11-2009 at 11:36 AM

On Windows yes, I'm using Luna Elements with the uxtheme.dll patch (so I'm not using a program to use the theme).

Found the problem: it is related to the windows trasparency settings in Messenger Plus!: disabling it removes the problem! I'll report this in the bug section. ;)

Plus! beta and WLM 9 beta- Window Frame Bug by fibzter22 on 01-11-2009 at 05:48 PM

I was wondering, i recently d/l'ed both betas for Plus and WLM and i found that after i installed Plus, the window frame around the main messenger window changed back to the XP look and not the Vista look, does anyone have any idea how it can be fixed...if not, can u try to fix it in the next release of Plus! ? :D

P.S. the window frame, when you are chatting is normal (the vista look) but the problem is only with the main msngr window

The other thing is that the chat windows may hve the vista look but when u expand the window the XP window frame shows and after you restore it to its normal size again the XP window frame stays the same and doesn't return to its vista GUI look

Could it be an incompatible skin interfering? Try disabling any skins that are enabled (if any)

RE: Plus! beta and WLM 9 beta- Window Frame Bug by fibzter22 on 01-11-2009 at 06:11 PM

no, i have no skins enabled

RE: Plus! beta and WLM 9 beta- Window Frame Bug by Patchou on 01-11-2009 at 06:18 PM

Can you post a screenshot of both your chat window and your contact list?

RE: Plus! beta and WLM 9 beta- Window Frame Bug by fibzter22 on 01-11-2009 at 06:22 PM

do you when the chat window has the XP window frame or Vista window frame? because it changes after i minimize, maximize or move the window

btw, i jus found that when i hide the display picture, it doesnt do it properly anymore, and when i show it, it screws up the screen...i'll add screen shots of that too

I already opened a topic about this problem some hours ago but noone answered. :\
However this problem is related to the window trasparency option in Plus!, just disable the trasparent contact list and the bar will be back as normal. ;)

I uninstall it, the msn works without problems ... But installing the plus ends up those errors. Would tell me how to solve?

RE: WLM2009 Default Skin Problems by vaccination on 01-16-2009 at 04:38 PM

It's most likely because you are using a skin. Try disabling the skin and see if the problem persists, if not, post in the skins thread/contact the developer.
