Colour for added nicknames by janlukaz on 01-13-2009 at 01:05 PM

I dont know if this is a bug, because I dont even know if it was meant to work. The problem: MsgPlus! has no effect on the nicknames I add for my contacts, the codes dont work, and I see no color when i add the nicknames myself, when I leave them with theirs nickname they get coulored. Also at the contacts window, my nickname gets coulored if i add the code, but my personal message doesnt, only on other peoples computers, this last thing I know to have been like that since always, and I think its probably because the personal message can me edited directly from the window.
If those arent bugs I leave em as a suggestion for the next build or something.
I attached two screenshots to clearify what I mean.

The first 'bug', with a bit of testing, I can see what the problem is.

The first time you add a nickname with colour, it will appear ok:

If you then edit it again:

And change it to something else:

It won't work.

Fix: Delete the nickname so it goes back to the original, then add a nickname.

May be a bug or maybe just a limitation, not sure if it's been reported before.

Correct. If it wasn't like that, you wouldn't be able to edit it. Your contacts who have Plus! will see the colour, and you can add yourself to your contacts list to confirm this.

Thanks for the quick solution, I hope that it can be fixed until the final release.

EDIT: It really works, however, it's a WEIRD bug, I could notice that it doesn't work when the contact doesn't chance position on the list, and it's a lot more than it seems. And it is not the only way for it to work, I managed to do this with contacts that weren't being renamed for the first time. I'll soon upload a sequence of screenshots to clarify what I mean.

This is what I mean:
(at a certain point someone comes online, but that changes nothing)

EDIT: I think the solution goes around something like, when you hit enter on editing a contact's name Plus! will check for color codes, and when you hit F2 (or wtv you do to edit) Plus! check for color again and restores the color code for you to be able to edit what you originally input. I'm not sure if I was clear, but since I'm not a programmer that's the best I can do.
