Installing Problems! by BPW on 01-13-2009 at 10:17 PM

I upgraded from WLM 8.5 to WLM 2009 edition. Everything running fine, until my friend stops seeing my messages. So, I uninstall it, thinking I'll be able to re-install it simply. Wrong.

I now cannot re-install it. It says that it cannot remove older versions of WLM, yet there is no WLM installed on it!

I've tried ZapMessenger, and that takes forever, and won't work.

Help? (Y)

Start>Run>msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}>Enter. Not sure if it removes beta only tho.

This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

I DID uninstall it. The problem is, for some reason it thinks I still have it on there.

When i try to install it again, it says it cannot remove old WLM.

Will you post a screenshot of it, please?

have you tried reinstalling 8.5 and upgrading to 9 again? (or staying with 8.5 for now)

(although I can imagine this probably won't work as you usually can't "downgrade" wlm IIRC)

To remove all traces of WLM9, your best bet is to run this tool: Zap Messenger

Afterwards you should have no problem installing 9 again.

EDIT: My bad, must have completely missed that o_o

In which case, you could give This a go.
