Be Right Back Status Question by silent-viper on 01-25-2009 at 04:50 PM

As many of you know the Be Right Back status was removed in the newest version of windows live messenger.

But does anyone actually know why it was removed in the first place?

I used to use it all the time if I was only going to be away from the computer for a minute or so.

Thanks.

I don't know the answer, but my guess would be that they want to make it more simpler.

Be Right Back / Away / In a call / Out to lunch .. can all just be summed up as 'Away'.

If you're "Be Right Back", you're still 'Away' - it's the same thing.

Thankfully we have Plus! to add our own custom status :P

But I do agree, I preferred it with the Be Right Back status.

I've always wondered about the custom status'

If we set a custom status does it show up on a persons computer that hasn't got windows live plus installed?

Yep.
The status is in the name...

If the user has Plus!, they will see:

Chris (I'm away!)

If they don't have Plus!, they will see:

Chris {I'm away!}
