Disabling mail counter on start screen - Solved by Basilis on 02-01-2009 at 05:57 PM

How can I disable the mail counter on the start screen for my user account?

Yes, I am on XP with Service Pack 3. The way nimicitor suggested, it will probably be disabled for both accounts while I want it to be disabled only for mine. I am almost sure I have seen this option somewhere.

In the registry, HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/UnreadMail

Many thanks robert. You gave me the exact solution I needed cause in fact, I had opened an old mail account that had unread mails and I couldn't remember the password so the mails would remain unread and they would be forever at the start screen. Thanks again! :D

Anyway, I won't need it since robert's suggestion solved my problem. No counter now in the start screen. Thank you all for the help.
