Just received an e-mail and I'll be getting back a lot more from my income tax return, so I've decided it's time for a new laptop. What would you recommend and please only recommend if you have knowledge of it.
Looking to spend $800 USD. No integrated graphics, decent amount of ram, and screen size/weight is not a big deal for me.

NOOO, not gateway... i used to have one, they overheat, their hinges break, but other than that they're fine (it might have been just the model i bought, but i wouldn't buy anything from them again).

Over the last week have not had any problems with it. Fan has ran nice and slow, HD works fantastic, only con is the keyboard doesn't have a backlight.

Lazy mofos are taking 2 weeks to get it done. Its in "Ship out of factory" mode for 2 days now 
I guess its on hold cause its the weekend so that's another 2 days in "Ship out of factory mode". Assuming they move to "in transit" on Monday, Bluedart will get it to my city by tuesday and I should have it by Wednesday 
Then I need to wait for an "engineer" for "installation". I am wishing he can be here on Wednesday itself or at max Thursday.. I can't wait any longer 
I'll post pics if anyone wants them. Engadget has a nice picture gallery too
