VMWare question by alegator on 02-04-2009 at 11:32 PM

Hi, I have two OS's installed in VMWare and I want to upgrade VMWare to a newer version. To do this, do I have to uninstall VMWare and reinstall the OS's after the upgrade, or can I just install the newer version on top of what I have and avoid having to reinstall them? Thanks.

I suggest reading the FAQ at the vmware site: http://www.vmware.com/products/ws/faqs.html

Just install the newer version, it will uninstall the existing version and install the new one. Your virtual machines will be unaffected, but you might want to update VMware Tools inside them.
