Error message 810003d by Rafira on 02-11-2009 at 11:45 AM

I'm running windows live messenger 9 on XP, and for about the past three days now I have been unable to log into messenger on this computer.

When I go into 'options' for mesenger and 'connections', it tells me I am not currently connected to .net messenger service.

The troubleshooter is hopeless.

I have tried disabling firewalls (using Norton internet security currently), clearing cache data for firefox and internet explorer (not that I use the latter), and playing around with various setting to no avail.

Help? Please? I'm at my wits end!

Hope that helps.

Actually, I've done everything on that list.  The only thing I can't do is delete the folder 'DBstore' under 'Windows Live Contacts' when deleting all the files under 'Windows Live Contacts', because it claims the file's in use.

Also, I can't even uninstall messenger, because it a)doesn't have an option to uninstall in it's folder under the start bar, and it doesn't appear on the list of programs to install/uninstall under control Panel, either.

Any other suggestions?

Uninstall Windows Live Messenger using ZapMessenger, delete the whole Windows Live Folder from C:\Program Files and then install it again.

Well I finally got it working after deleting those files and restarting, but goddamn that was annoying.
